Given my oh so tired state from my ridiculously fun weekend, I thought we might take it down a notch. I'm feeling mellow and am thinking of some hip hop that is perfect for a sunday after a long weekend of drizzin'.
First I want to share a new track from the Minneapolis duo Atmosphere. Minneapolis? I know what you're thinking, *Phew* no more B'Mo/Philly...well at least for right now. Ant and Slug just came out with their 6th album and if this song is indicative of what the rest of the album sounds like then I am all in. In all honesty, I am not in love with everything they do but this track is some good stuff. You'll dig the beat and the lyrics are fly. Check it:

As many of you know I often listen to my ipod on shuffle. On the way home from the airport, it played a duo that I am sad to say no longer exists. This is Jaylib which was the combination of Madlib and the late J Dilla. J Dilla died in February 2006 of Lupus. He was only 32 and had soo much talent. Although they mostly did their own solo work, Madlib and Dilla hooked up and made this amazing album in 2003 called "Champion Sound". This album is perfect for my mood at the moment. Favorite tracks include, "The Red", "The Heist", "Strip Club" and "Survival Test". Go roll a J, take a few tokes and listen.

As a bonus, I am including a track that Jaylib remixed. It's called "Hydrant Game" (feat. Quasimoto). This is how much I love you and love this song. The track is on Peanut Butter Wolf's album 2k8 BBall Zombie War. I bought the album from Itunes. As you know, you can't share any tracks bought off of itunes. So I decided tonight I was going to search and search for this track so I could share it with you. Just so you know I started this posting at 7:30 p.m. and it's just about 10 p.m. See I do love you!! I finally found this website called www.djdownloads.com. It's a British site and like Itunes you pay, but you have the ability to share the tracks. Take another toke off that J, listen to the lyrics, do the hip hop head nod and smile as you witness this 1:37 masterpiece.

Since this post has been dedicated to hip hop duos, I thought it apropos to end with Public Enemy. I found out that Chuck and Flav will be playing "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" in its entirety at the Pitchfork Music Festival 7/18-7/20. As you know that album is simply amazing. I'm sharing the copy I actually uploaded from the original record. It might not be a perfect recording so I apologize in advance...but it will be cool to hear some of the snap, crackle, pops! Now who wants to come with me to Chi-Town in July? We can do a side trip to Wrigley, drink some Old Style and cheer on my boyfriend DeRosa. Who knows...maybe we'll even run into Kid Sister?
TERRRRRRRMIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRR XXXXXXX!

Electro Fuzzzzzz
DUDE! So much to say about the show last night...but to keep it brief, here are some shout outs:
-Diplo...loved *you* dancing your ass off...I hope you post your tour mix...had I been any closer my body would have crumbled from your pounding rolling bass lines...thanks for visiting...come back again soon!
-To my french duo friends...I'll be honest...I wasn't expecting much...but you blew me away...my dawgs are raw from dancing to your fuzzy hypnotic beats...au revoir!
-Hey Eric...it's cool man, we've all been there...I'm not taking it personally...you just took one too many tokes...my shit is strong I *warned* you...and Justice had you in a stranglehold...hope you made it back to the mothership ok.
Nuff said...now onto the music portion of this broadcast...
Since I was in electro heaven last night I was thinking about who their influences were aside from the obvious Daft Punk...one group came to mind and that was none other than those crazy kids out of my beloved Brooklyn, Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner...better known as Fischerspooner. So yes I am well aware that they have only been around since 1998...but they have certainly had a huge impact in the last 10 years on many many folks! Everyone pays homage by remixing and sampling their songs. You hear it on the dance floor all the time...hello James Murphy!!!
So I am going to begin by giving you my favorite song of theirs...you should download this if you don't have it already...sounds really good with headphones...get ready to dance...oh and if you've never seen a Fischerspooner show...you're missing out...energy energy energy...the stage is like a carnival on crack...wait that's kind of redundant...seriously one huge brain twisting cluster fuck...so much fun! Put on your seatbelts, you're in for a heart-pounding ride!!
http://www.zshare.net/audio/9685998c28b8af/
The next track is a remix by our friend James Murphy...ala DFA...For those of you who are horrible with names, James Murphy is the front man for LCD Soundsystem and DFA...and of course he produces for so many peeps and DJs under his own name. He did a great new version of Emerge...oh yeah that's the song above...check it:
http://www.zshare.net/audio/968632288f9c71/
The last track is Fischerspooner's own remix of Emerge...listen to the lyrics...they're pretty funny...at least part of them are...Ok maybe I'm the only one who thinks they're funny...except for some of you sick twisted fucks close to my heart! I am perpetually 4 :)

Alright kids...as much as I want to write to you about lots of stuff my day off needs to start as the bear just woke up. We have a full day of adventures ahead of us and we need to get movin'! Even though I am leaving you, when I come back I will have soo much to share. Have a good one, Enjoy!
P.S.--Casey Spooner what happened between you and Michael Stipe? You were *such* a cute couple! I would have paid to see that sex tape!

"Watch what I say When I say What I say Just don't walk away and be like whaad he say????"
Do you know what I love? I love drunken messages from friends...they're so so entertaining...truly! Thanks for the one tonight you! Sorry I was out drizzin and unavailable!! I hope you figured it out and didn't disappoint. I am saving this message so when I see you next, you can hear the hilarity. The scary thing is that you're a lot like me...we've had this discussion...I *suppose* there can be two drizzhollerers!! Enough of the cryptics...
I am on the eve of seeing Diplo...so guess what??? I am whoring him out tonight in the very best way possible. I am giving you his best...in all shapes and sizes.
Hollertronix...seriously...no I mean seeeeeerrrrrrriiiiioooooooouuuuusssssssllllyyyy! This mix is called "Never Scared". Ok, so I know some of you are saying, "Hey you gave that to me already!" and one other person...is saying, "Hey I gave this to you!"...yes, yes, yes, you are all correct, but we all have to share so let's do it! For those of you who don't have this, put on your seat belts...the ride is fast, furious and well you know BASS HEAVY!!! YEAH!!! As mentioned in a previous post, Diplo and Low Bee...are Hollertronix...this mix is ridiculous! The last couple of tracks at the end are the only achilles heals and that's only because they go on too long...kinda like my posts...ha! Tracks 4 & 5 are hands down some of the best producing out of these two...truly! Taking Bjork's "It's in Our Hands" and throwing down a fat electro-bassy-beat somersaulting into the dirty dirty south...G-E-N-I-U-S!!! Check it:

*WARNING**WARNING* *WARNING* *WARNING* *WARNING* *WARNING* *WARNING* *WARNING*
I am going to leave you with a very very very lyrically offensive song...it is horrible...I mean I am talking more offensive than NWA, Kool Keith, Ice-T and Clay Aiken...I LOVE this track!!! The beat is ridiculously sick because it is done by none other than Diplo...he samples PJ Harvey's haunting vocals and electro beats from "Down By the Water" over his rolling drum bass lines...Plastic Little and Spank Rock spit over it. Again, *most* of you will be offended by the lyrics...I kinda find all things Plastic Little comical...you can't get wrapped up in that shit...but for those faint of heart don't download this!!

B Girls...Where You At?
Two posts in one day? WHAT? Yeah well I figured there's a good chance I won't be posting much towards the end of the week given my impending visitor...ah no asses, one of my bffs is gonna be here as I mentioned two posts ago and our schedule is full!
As I was driving home today a song came on my ipod and it was someone who I will talk about here in sec...but it dawned on me I had yet to talk about the oh so talented lady mcs I've been diggin' lots. Hello? So here you go. I will try not to be as verbose as my last post. I was blowin' steam sorry.
Let's start with my latest infatuation Santogold. A resident queen of Brooklyn, protege of super producer Switch, all around brilliant lady. Some people call her the next M.I.A. I disagree. Here is her song called "L.E.S. Artistes" remixed by someone close to my heart of course, the one and only XXXChange (known for all his hard work with Spank Rock but he produces pretty much everyones stuff) P.S. If you have Itunes please note that I've posted the actual lyrics in of course the lyrics section :) In case you don't know how to get there, right click on the song once you've imported it and the first item on the drop down menu says "Get Info". Click on that and then you will see all different tabs one says lyrics...yeah...oh and for future knowledge this is where I put the set lists for the mixes I've been posting. Anyway this song has been my mantra as of late...nuff said. check it:

Since we mentioned M.I.A. and since most of you know about her already I am just giving you this great mix she did with Diplo...of course. Essentially, it's a lot of her songs, plus tracks you've never heard remixed. My favorite track is called "URAQT"...Diplo samples the beginning of the theme to Sanford and Son. It's pretty tight.
http://www.zshare.net/download/9538245a89fb95/
In my earlier post I spoke of none other than Kid Sister. She's from Chi-Town. She's hot on the mic and hot in person. I had the privilege of standing not too far from her when she was doing a set at the American Museum of Natural History...you know the show where Kanye had to come and ruin it all with his surprise visit...kidding...it was actually pretty amazing to see the entire place lose their shit when he jumped on stage. In any case, since you will hear her get sampled so much on a lot of these mixes, I am posting a Ghislain Poirier remix of her song "Let it Bang". Hot, hot stuff!!
http://www.divshare.com/download/4102926-5c9
The next lady is truly the queen of b'more. She should need no introduction but since she's such a special lady, I'll do it...this would be Amanda Blank. She is all of 24...or very close to it. This lady can spit like no other chick in the buiz and her dirty dirty raps roll off her tongue like panties flying off a whore on dollar day! She is of course the apple of my eye as she's the apple of all things spank rock...and you know what...for those *few* of you who don't have *any* spank rock...please send me a separate email and I will load you up like a whore...oh I already said that...well I have it all so please hit me up. If indeed you are one of those people, the first track below is her signature track with them...that would be "Bump"...the track after is a solo that she did with the help of XXXChange...and lastly I added a track she did with Pase Rock called "Sexy MFer"(eli remix). She's pure genius and I hope one day I get to tell her that in person!

T&A
OK, I've tried to only write my posts *after* work, but if I don't start this one now, my assistant won't be living by the end of the day. Honestly, I am about to lose my shit, but instead I shut my office door and turn to this blog. It is truly my Calgon. When I write these posts I really block everything else out as I want to make sure I am kicking some good k-nowledge your way. Enough about me...
Let's talk Titts and Ayres. Two fine fine djs/producers all around good guys who do wonderful things on their own, but when together watch out! I found this mix they did and I had to listen to it 4 or 5 times to make sure I liked it. It's actually quite good, but I had been od'ing on Starkey and I couldn't wrap my head around anything else. It's kinda like if you go wine tasting and you start with reds then you decide to sample a white it doesn't necessarily go down well. You need to cleanse your pallet with some crackers first before you do that...so that's what I had to do.
Let's talk Ayres first. He is actually from the other wonderful B-Town which is Brooklyn...soon to be new home for this drizzhollerer! He's actually only been Djing since 2001 but has proven he has chops as you'll hear in this mix I am going to post. Speaking of Brooklyn, he'll be at Southpaw on April 5, 2008 for his monthly called "The Rub". Let me know what you think.
Titttttttttttttsssssssssssssssswwooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrttttttttttttttttthhhhhhh....that's how his name is broadcasted throughout his mixes. He's living in DC, but I want to say was in Philly at one point. Either way he loves B-More Club...Holla! and does a good job reprazentin'. Seriously kids he gets many ass' a shakin'...combined with our boy Ayres their shit is dynamite!
I don't have the setlist as they wanted to be silly and secretive about it. All they said is the following:
"30 minutes of hot molten lava including my new Kid Sister remix, Tittsworth’s new Brazillian Rhyme remix, new shit from the Ultimate T&A EP and a lot more. Here are some of the artists: Kavinsky, Cassy, Herve, Alter Ego, Surkin, DJ Unk, Dave Nada, Blaq Starr, Rich Boy & A-Trak plus some secrets"
This mix was done in June 2007 so some of you should recognize the tracks and help a sister out!! Ayres begins the set and Tittsworth comes in at around 14 minutes into the set. I do have some interesting commentary on the tracks though that I thought I'd share. So here goes:
The beginning is this dramatic sample of someone flatlining...of course immediately after the beats begin cuz you know y'all have gone to heaven. So the first track I really don't know who it is...but it's a nice intro with some good loops and a sweet vocal.
Right at 5:44 drops in some serious nostalgia for me. Let's rewind a sec. All of you kids who used to party with me, do you remember the party "Hiatus"? Yes the party that was held in the small upstairs room to the left of the main room at 1015. It was Garth's party after Roots was dissolved, you know the one party that was every Wednesday but not the first, for obvious reasons! At the time of its creation, everyone was into some serious garage house...this track takes me back to that time...let me know if you agree.
Then at around 6:45 he drops into this record that I am not sure whose it is but someone has sampled the intro to "Public Enemy No.1" and turned it into a track. It very well could be theirs but am not sure. For those of you who have the record let me know. Either way its fuzzy bass lines will have you bopping around hands down. Diplo uses it in the mix I sent last night.
At about 10:02 is the Kid Sister remix of "Pro Nails" they talk about. Most of you have heard this. Anything Kid Sister is amazing. I'll be sure to talk about her on a future post.
The next track you should all know, it's none other than Dj Unk's "Back It Up". If you're not already dancing, you will be now. This begins at around 12:25.
If you use Dj Unk it seems like a natural progression to throw in none other than Rich Boy's "Throw Some Ds". This begins Tittsworth set and starts at around 15:10. Thanks Ayres...I loved it!
Now the next track can someone please please please figure it out and tell me they know what it is. In particular I am shouting out to one person, you know who you are, who I am hoping owns it and will bestow it upon me...this comes in at 17:00...and OH SHIT...the horn sample that's used blows my fucking mind! I love the tease of only hearing this for 1:36 before Titts segways into Blaqstarr.
It makes a lot of sense to follow up with Blaqstarr here. Blaqstarr is one of the godfather's of the B'More Club scene. Everyone uses his tracks.
At about 20:40 is another great track that keeps you moving. Not sure who it is...but they sample Coldplay. If you know me, you know I've ripped Coldplay a new one on many many occasions...it's not to say that I don't think Chris Martin is a talented pianist because I think he is...so it's nice that the sample is just that and nothing more otherwise a gun might have been in my mouth.
23:15 is a track that also is a bit nostalgic for me. Cg the baddest B this reminds me of what we were reminissing about the other night. 7:35 a.m.-Cocaine strewed dance floors-with all our gay boyfriends-doing the cat walk dance in front of the mirrors-listening to handbag house-whilst drinking midori sours at the infamous End Up Tea Dances! That was a mouthful, but you'll get it.
26:00 mins Tittsworth ends with this ridiculously good melody of Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke" a song that always gives me chills because how do you not love Stevie Wonder? Am jealous of all of you kids who will see him at Jazz Fest this year. Then he takes us into the Supremes "You Keep Me Hangin On" another chill creator. Such powerful lyrics for the time. The best is he finishes with Huey Lewis' "Hip to Be Square". How do you not have a smile on your face now? I do. Now I can go back to work...booo!

Let's talk Titts and Ayres. Two fine fine djs/producers all around good guys who do wonderful things on their own, but when together watch out! B'Mo, B'Mo, B'Mo...HO!!!
"Holy shit. off to a good fucking start!"...a text I just got from a friend who's at the Diplo/Justice show in Seattle...this same friend will be here this Thursday to watch the very same show in SF with me...yeah! Hopefully it's not the same show. With DJs you never know if they'll mix it up when they're in different towns or not. I have to say thankfully Diplo is one of those DJs who usually does. I have seen him more times than I can count on two hands. Only once was I ever disappointed and I swear it's because someone stole his crates and/or gave him some glue. In any case it's only 9:30 and apparently Diplo is on already...I just texted my friend and asked if he was sure it was Diplo to which he replied "I'm 99% sure its Dips. but only 99%. oh yeah and again...holy shit!" So yeah it's prolly Diplo. As the cool kids say, he brings it!
Diplo is an OG from that place where all the crazy kids come from...that would be Flo-Rida! Speaking of Flo-Rida here is a freestyle remix I found of "Low". It's ok. Not really impressed...but for those of you heads that have to have every remix here you are:
http://www.divshare.com/download/4096567-a3a
Back to talkin' bout Florida...Oh yeah...the water is tainted there I have living proof of it! However most people are smart enough to leave like our pal Diplo here. Where do you think he went? I'll give you two guesses it could either start with a B or a P. Yes, Philly you guessed it. However, don't be fooled. He has a huge presence in B'More. He is the other 1/2 of Hollertronix...his counterpart is the infamous Low-Budget, better known as Low-B. Of course you know that he's collaboed with everyone from my boys S.Rock, Plastic Little, Blaqstarr, Scottie B, Sega and everyone who is anyone in B'More. Truly though most people who didn't have their ear to the ground, really got to know him via M.I.A. So I've decided in light of my going to see Diplo this week, most posts will be related to the b'mo/philly family tree. Ha, you're thinking, WTF? Haven't most of her posts been about the B'More/Philly family tree? Ok, mea culpa but I promise that I will mix it up. I swear!!! I was originally going to post like 6 Diplo and Co. related mixes on this post, but thought no, I'll make you kids wait for it. A little at a time otherwise you'll burn and crash like a sugar high!
I just got an updated text that merely said "holy shit balls for reals"...oh that Diplo...he's a crazy cat! So the first Diplo mix I am giving you is not his best. I know you're thinking why the fuck bother? Well I had not heard it until today and like all things Diplo, his mixes kind of have to grow on you. It's not bad though by any means. It apparently was a New Year's mix. For the fucking life of me I cannot find the tracklisting. I know!!! Totally sucks!!! I have searched high and low and been completely unsuccessful. I will say this, he samples Khia's "My Neck, My Back"...I am sure it's someones record remix of it...for all I know it could be his...if someone knows let me know...point is...it's a 3 minute sample and for those of you with the little ones who have told me you've downloaded my mixes I've posted...a fair warning that one of my favorite words gets a lot of attention...yes, that would be pussy. So unless your kid thinks pussy is Thomas the Train's green friend, you may not want to play this in front of them. You know you've all danced to that Khia song. I actually have a funny story about that...but not for tonight...another time. So without anymore of my rambling, here you go:

Chemical Madness
Oh shit...I just found this track...HOLLA!
http://www.divshare.com/download/4085130-cbb
Chemical Brothers + Spank Rock= Hot Shit! For those of you who know me in the biblical sense...and what I mean by that is not what you may think, I mean it like you know my taste in music...there are a select select few, you know who you are, who *really* know why I listen to what I listen to and why...you'll know why this track rocks my panties off.
Some background, I am obsessed with all things Spank Rock. I've seen them in 3 different states and a little less than 10 times in just 2.5 years of knowing them...there are few things they belong to that I don't subscribe to. Getting to know Spank Rock is like getting to know all things B'More and Philly. There is some ridiculouly good talent there as many of you are well aware of. Perhaps in another post, I'll do a B'More/Philly family tree. Won't be too hard as everyone has either collaborated in some fashion or fucked! Here is a great performance and interview from S dot rock at the best radio station in the world:
http://www.divshare.com/download/4086624-3c5
Seriously if I haven't shoved KEXP down your throat enough...check them out at:
www.kexp.org
Free format, no commercials and good music. Best time to listen to M-F 6am-6p (PST) and if you like reggae, the best reggae show every saturday from 9am-12n (PST). Apparently they are so well loved in the Big Apple that John (most famous DJ on the station) will be doin a simulcast on 91.5 WNYE. I think it starts this Monday too. I am not sure how that is going to work. It means that either the WC or the EC will not have it live. Which reminds me I was throwing gang signs at the wedding I was at last night...Hmm...if anyone can enlighten me on how it will work let me know. Either way NYC will have a chance to get it on radio instead of stream which is a good deal since I am going to be living there shortly! New York BEWARE!!
Going back to the Spank Rock performance, the last track on this set is called "Race Riot on the Dance Floor". That song is soo good on so many different levels shoot! Get ready to shake, shake shake it...c'mon shake shake it...ok since I went there:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_4N8MVMm7s
As for the Chemical Brothers, I've seen them on several different occasions...always an amazing time...but the first was most def the best! There used to be this small club in SF called the Trocadero Transfer...yeah I know there's one in Philly...but apparently there are a lot of places called the Trocadero all over the world. A little history...the Troc was the first house built in SF west of Twin Peaks. I shit you not. It was an old roadhouse which you could tell when you walked in as there was a balcony that hovered over the bar and the very teeny tiny dance floor. This place would oversell tix to shows by at least 100. Never had I felt more like a sardine dancing...but the best part about it was that *everyone* danced...I mean everyone! You didn't really have an option. So they were so kind to host CB like maybe a month or two after the release of Exit Planet Dust...oh here you go:
http://www.divshare.com/download/4086591-829
you know I can't help myself...love this track...good to run to kids...especially if you do hills like me...ok anyway I digress...at this show everyone and I mean everyone was taking ecstacy. Such a good vibe that night...everyone sweating...everyone sharing water...everyone sucking blow pops...hahaha...OK I am dating myself. If you were there, then you would agree the night was magical!
It's almost time for mimosas...happy easter y'all...pok pok!

Joe Fucking Esposito
I couldn't help myself.
http://www.divshare.com/download/4075529-7e2
How do you not love this song? If you don't watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia you should. The show is dark and hilarious. They use this song in the episode called "$100 Baby". I highly highly recommend it.
Joe Esposito what happened to you? Does anyone know?
Oh and of course I am working today...from home ;)

Crookers
OK, so you'll have to forgive the OK's...you'll see me write that a lot! My almost four year old nephew says it all the time and so now I say it along with clapping when I am excited about something. Seriously who the fuck claps in meetings with engineers? I'm slightly retarded I've decided. OK enough about me...onto the real deal!!
So for those of you not in the know, I've come across a super sick mix created by none other than the milan based duo Crookers. To quote my favorite bitch, they're a hot tranny mess! These boys are certainly talented and am so excited to say they'll be at Studio B on June 21st. To learn more check them at:
http://www.myspace.com/crookers
In any case, some of you will really dig this mix, you know who I'm talking to...and there are some of you who will really not like this at all...you know who I'm talking about. Here is their set list, judge for yourself:
Tracklisting
1. Skream! “Midnight Request Line (Switch Remix)”
2. Boy 8-Bit “The Suspense Is Killing Me”
3. Radioclit “Divine Gosa (Switch Remix)”
4. Edu K “Gatas Gatas Gatas (Crookers Remix)”
5. Don Rimini “Let Me Back Up (Crookers Tetsujin Remix)”

You Know Why...I Like it Hard!
There comes a time when you have to give into something that you really really never wanted to do in the first place, but know it will *seemingly* be for the good of all if you do. Like going to the Dr's and getting that herpes test or when you're about to call someone a fat fucking fuck but notice an impressionable child next to you, you don't call the guy fat. Personally for me that's this blog. I have never been into reading people's blogs nor have I ever desired to have one of my own. As an aspiring audiophile, I've come to realize that when researching new music you have no choice but to stumble upon people's blogs as they've been so kind to share their recent discoveries. Lately I've been geeking out on the music front more than usual and have found some gems that I feel too selfish to keep to myself. Thus beginning this blog. I will begin by telling you that I am in no way qualified to really give any kind of expert opinion like some of these jackass blogs claim they have. However, what I hope to do is perhaps enlighten you on something you may never have thought to listen to and perhaps make you laugh by my most-likely hung over posts. That being said, take all of this with a grain of salt and I hope that you at least grab some good stuff and give me your opinions on what you think is dope or down right dreadful. Oh wait, the name...Ok I know some of you are already giving me shit for stealing this crafty line but really who the fuck cares? Point is if you are going to check out this blog, you'll find songs, tracks, mixes etc...mostly composed of dirty gritty bass lines that creep up and punch you in the face. It's what I gravitate towards most. Hence the blog title. Of course from time to time don't be surprised if I throw some nostalgia your way in the form of Thin Lizzy, Yvonne Elliman, Sepultura, Genesis and Joe Esposito...oh yeah she said it J fucking Esposito. Lastly, if you get annoyed with bad grammar, abuse of elipses and fowl language this blog may not be for you. Enjoy! Oh and for those of you smarties who figured out the Dj Shadow lyrics in the title of this first post...here you go:
