Cinematic Orchestra

I'd like to start off the post by saying how lame I am. Last night I was supposed to see Blaq and Titts, but instead I stayed at a friend's house where many old friends gathered for a mutual friend's bday. One thing led to another and I ended up sleeping next to one of my best friend's on an ottoman truly only suited for one person. Needless to say my back is all jacked up and I am exhausted. I don't know why I am still up at this point, but I needed to read what the latest was on all the blogs. Sadly, most of the tracks, mixes, podcasts I listened to were in my opinion just ok. Seeing as I am in an extremely mellow mood and that I haven't thrown nostalgia your way in a while, I figured this was the perfect opportunity to post a not so typical track you might be used to hearing on my blog. Don't get me wrong, you'll understand why I love this track as it's very much produced in a way that I adhere to.

The track I am posting is called "Work It!(Man with the movie camera)" by Cinematic Orchestra. This track is off their self titled 2003 album. For those of you not in the know, Cinematic Orchestra hails out of Britain. They are on the oh so great Ninja Tune label and have been around since the late 90's. Their sound can be described as many different styles from down tempo to drum and bass to trip hop to acid jazz. The song I am posting I think comprises all of those sound elements. It's an 8 minute track that really makes you feel like you're hearing a story with the way it's arranged...a nice mix of subtleties and crescendos. I think you'll all enjoy the various instruments and styles incorporated into this track. Good eve and be well.
